THE CHALLENGE

Unifi, formerly Delta Global Services, was spinning off from Delta and needed better tools of their own to support their business. Previously, they used Microsoft Excel® spreadsheets for reporting and Hyperion Planning for workforce planning and forecasting. Inconsistencies in data collection via Excel spreadsheets and time lost uploading to other systems created more risk and less trust in the data for Unifi.

KEY BENEFITS

Black Diamond implemented the Rolling Forecast (Accordion) allowing Unifi to see the budget and forecast in any way needed to make sound business decisions at the station and corporate level.  

People Planning was implemented at the station level, allowing local management teams to focus on operational excellence and personnel development, rather than administrative tasks.  

By accurately forecasting cash flow, especially given the uncertainties of 2020, Unifi was able to manage the business with near real-time accuracy by utilizing the Black Diamond Framework Reporting in OneStream XF.  

Utilizing Capital Planning allowed Unifi to quickly analyze the sensitivity of capital structure to external drivers, such as commodity prices, and evaluate FX and interest rate exposure 

Unifi gained the ability to add commentary to budgets and look back at past budgets to analyze trends, thus making better budgeting and forecast decisions moving forward.
