As the hosts engage with Damon, they explore his role within the product group at Black Diamond Advisory and discuss his vision for product development at BDA. Cameron shared, “Two things I found to be innovative. One was the notion of relational blending, which is a OneStream thing, but the fact that it is dynamically built in cube. It wasn’t just a relational layer that did stuff and loaded the results into a cube. It’s very difficult to tell where one starts and the other ends.” Damon responded, “You know I think OneStream, just the technology that underlies where it is, you know… there’s relational data. OneStream gives you advantages that Hyperion just never had. Being able to build a solution that can take advantage, where necessary, of each of those, you can make something very performant because you don’t have to do everything in cube.”
